Washing agents are mixtures of non-ionic and/or anionic surface-active substances which dissolve contamination from the goods and hold it finely dispersed in the treatment bath.

A further important task of washing agents is the removal of oil-containing contaminations. Apart from their main tasks, washing agents must satisfy specific requirements regarding foam and wetting behaviour which permit their use on modern machines.
