In 1997, CHT abandoned its production in Tübingen due to the limited space and transferred it to Dußlingen. Today, the administration is situated in Tübingen and in modern, spacious laboratories the development and application technique are accommodated . At the Dußlingen works all production activities as well as the logistics are centralized on premises of roughly 80,000 sqm.

Regarding the transfer and expansion of the production ranges and stocks the improvement and increase of work safety and environmental protection were particularly taken into account. Thus, modern chemical ranges operated by qualified staff are available today.

The required raw materials are supplied by lorry and stored intermediately in stocks. A majority of the liquid raw materials is delivered by road tankers and filled into raw material tanks.

Raw materials from the tank farm are comprised by means of pipes and directly pumped into the various production aggregates on a big pipe bridge with collecting tray and leakage indicator. The remaining raw materials are being transported with an internal transport system.

In the production the raw materials are either directly filled into SPS-controlled, closed reactors or mixing vessels or by means of dosage units. Depending on the product the manufacturing is carried out in different process steps. The most important processes are as follows: chemical transformations (such as e.g. esterifications, sulphonations, sulphations, phosphonomethylations, phosphatations, quaternizations) and physical processes such as mixing, drying, grinding.

After the filtration (liquid and pasty substances) or sieving (solid substances) the products are filled into authorized and tested packagings. They are subsequently stored in a fully automatic high bay racking with 10,000 storing positions which was taken into operation in 1996. Afterwards, the products are delivered with an efficient and safe logistics concept into countries all over the world.

At the Oyten works fibre auxiliaries and silicone products are manufactured. In recent years, the capacity for silicone chemistry has been enhanced by means of important expansions and backward integration.

In 1997, the former Hansa Textil Chemie was acquired thus integrating the Oyten works into the CHT group.
